初二英语alive的用法

alive用法:1. 活着的;没死的(living;not dead) (1) 作表语。例如: She was still alive when I reached the hospital. 当我赶到医院的时候, 她还活着呢。 (2) 作后置定语。例如:Who’s the greatest man alive? 当今最伟大的人物是谁?

二、alive的搭配

1. 活着的;没死的

(1) be / seem / remain / stay alive。例如:

For the first time in years, he wanted to stay alive. 多年来他第一次想活下来。

(2) escape / get out / return alive。例如:

You have a chance to escape with your brother and your father alive.你有机会和你哥哥和父亲逃走。

They had little chance of returning alive. 他们几乎没有生还的希望。

(3) keep sb alive。例如:

Doctors fought to keep her alive. 医生竭尽全力救活她。

(4) be buried / be burned / be eaten / be found / be left / be captured / be taken

alive。例如:

Five people were found alive in the wreckage. 在废墟中发现五个人还活着。

(5) very much / barely / only half / still alive。例如:

I wasn’t sure if he was still alive. 我不能确定他是否还活着。

2. 有活力的;充满了活力或生气的;活跃的

(1) be / feel / seem alive。例如:

I feel really alive in the country! 在乡村,我感到确实有活力。

(2) come alive。例如:

The city comes alive at night. 夜晚,城市里很热闹。

(3) bring sb / sth alive。例如:

The wealth of detail in his book really brings it alive.

(4) really / truly / very / fully / intensely / only half。例如:

The economy of many countries was allowed to stagnate, land went out of cultivation, capital equipment was not added to, great blocks of the population were prevented from working and kept half alive by State charity. 许多国家听任经济停滞,土地休耕,资本设备不增,大批人口不给工作而由国家救济,保持半死半活。

注:很多语法专著都笼统地说 very 不能修饰 alive,但《牛津英语搭配词典》明确表示当alive 作“有活力的;充满了活力或生气的;活跃的 ”解时,very 可以修饰 alive。

(5) suddenly alive。例如:

His eyes were suddenly alive with excitement.

(6) alive with。例如:

The hall was alive with the sound of voices. 大厅里由于人的声音而热闹起来。

3. 存在着;继续不断

(1) be / remain stay / alive例如:

The big factories are trying to stay alive by cutting costs.大工厂试图依靠降低成本维持下去。

(2) keep sth alive。例如:

The people try to keep the old traditions alive. 人们试图把这古老的传统保存下去。

(3) very much alive。例如:

The old customs are still very much alive in this region.

4. 对某事物注意到的或敏感的。例如:

(1) be / become / remain。例如:

He remained very much alive to the dangers. 他对危险很敏感。

(2) very much | keenly。例如:

He is keenly to his interests.他斤斤计较个人利益。

(3) alive to。例如:

He is alive to pain. 他对疼痛敏感。

5. 充满(生物或活的东西) 的。例如:

alive with。例如:

The woods are alive with birds.树林里到处是鸟儿。

三、辨析

alive, live, living

这些形容词均有“活着的,活的”之意。

(1) alive 其反义词为 dead,指生命从奄奄一息到精力旺盛的各种状态。 多用于指人,通常只能作表语、补足语或后置定语,有时用作比喻或强调时也用于物。例如:

Given the chance to sing on stage, he is very much alive. 有机会在台上唱歌,他显得很活跃。

The bazaar was all alive by the time we arrived. 我们到达时,墟市非常热闹。

(2) live 通常作定语,指活生生的,生气勃勃的,还可表示现场直播的。 需要注意的是,live 作定语时,一般不用于指人,如不可说 a live poet,而要说 a living poet。

(3) living 其反义词为 dead,指包括人和动植物的生命没有消失、仍然存在的状态。既可用作表语形容词,又可用作定语形容词,故可放在它所修饰的名词之前。 我们既可以说:

English is a living language.

也可以说:

Is his father still living?

另外,在某些场合下,living 和 alive 表示的含义并不相同,尽管它们都用作表语。例如:

At last we found him in a trap in the forest,still living but not alive.

通过对比,可以看出,living之意是“活的”;alive 之意是“有气息的”。这里的 not alive 表示人虽然还活着,但已“气息奄奄”、“没有生气”了
