1、between 表示两者之间的关系，常与and 连用，但有时也表示三者以上事物之间的关系。意思是：“ 在两者之间；在……中间”。
如：
1). He sits between his parents .
他坐在他父母之间。
2). The bookshop is between the post office and the supermarket .
书店在邮局和超市之间。
3),The friendship between the six classmates lasted many years.
这六位同学之间的友谊持续了好多年。
2. in the middle of 在……中间。强调事物两端的中间。
如：
1). There is a bus stop in the middle of the road.
在这条公路中间有个公***汽车站。
2).Tom stands in the middle of the room.
汤姆站在房间的中间。
拓展：
among “在……之中/中间” 指三者或三者以上。通常表某个范围。
如：
1. There is a house among the trees.
这些树中有一间房子。
2. Someone is wrong among us.
我们中间有人错了。
