but it’s not?there. Don’t worry
it’s not your fault. Over 600
000 words get submitted each year to be included in the esteemed Oxford English Dictionary
but only a few hundred make the cut. This does not mean that these words are not used
they are just not popular enough to make it into the dictionary.
有时候你听到一个词，想在词典里查查但是就是就是查不到，别担心，这不是你的问题。每年都会有超过60万个单词被提交成为牛津词典新收录词汇的备选，但是只有几百个会被收录。这不意味着那些没被收录的词没人用，只是不够流行，所以没办法收录到字典里。
These rejected words are stored in a vault owned by the Oxford University Press
and Bright Side found some of these word rejects. If their popularity rises in the future
they may well find a place among the pages of the dictionary.
